Back in the day I played a lot of Daoc and I played as an infiltrator. seeing as that is a total solo stealth class that dominated almost any 1v1 scenario, i'm wonder if recon might have the same game play style...
anyone care to differ?

Unlikely, from what I've seen is that each class has their own unique quirks that allow them to survive in any sort of situation. I'm just hoping that there won't be an incredible amount of balancing issues, but for a shooter, it most likely won't be a problem

I played daoc for years! I don't think anything can match that game...

I also played DAoC for quite some time, on and off since release actually.
I played all kinds of classes, my favorites being the assassin classes. I liked Infiltrator and Nightshade alot, didn't try the Shadowblade too much. My all time fave was the Light Eldritch tho...
Since in most games I played the stealthy assassin type archetype, I'm pretty sure that I'll be game for the Recon. Looks like a ton of fun, Stealth + FPS + some melee aspects = Alot of fun. I wouldn't mind giving the beefy looking Assault a try either though.

I've ALWAYS played the big melee / tank character in MMOs hopefully Recon will make it an even better experience. And there shouldn't be a '' Best PvP Class '' or else balance would be absolutely horrible, everyone should be equal.

Honestly it is never an easy answer. You can be quick and stealthy and be very effective, or completely suck at it. Or the heavy rush in blow crap up beast. I have always prefered sniping, i got those steady hands , and i dont like being in the dead center of the random fire and getting killed because i was careless. GO RECON!

ha I feel like everyone seems fond of the stealth recon and the big gunner assault, I bet we'll all be wrong and th robotics will dominate the battlefield because .01% of the population plays that class

I don't think there will be any one class that dominates. You probably need a good mix of medics to heal and robotics for support for recon/assault to be at maximum effectiveness. You have to remember this is a team game, so everyone will have their place on the battlefield to make the most efficient team.

Personally from what I've heard about robotics they have done a really good job making it a class that can be played so many ways and I've always felt the more options of play style someone is given the better they can become. Any class will be able to be the best put in the right hands.

I think a Bio medic will be the best class. Poison with healing will be sick and well don't think many people will play a medic in this style which really sells it for me.

Bio Medic sounds pretty cool. Also sounds like it would fair quite well solo, or in a small group. So the player really doesn't have to focus on healing anyone other then himself maybe, and can pay attention on wreaking havoc upon his foes !!!

Seems like medic is popular from what people are saying. I think I'll stick with my Assault

Popularity pre-release or at least this early don't matter, its not enough people voting yet. :p
Best PvP class is too far off to tell. Keep in mind recons stealth can be countered.
