I strongly recommend this game to anyone who needs their FPS fix and are also waiting for GA. It's a mix of halo and battlefield with a lot of complexity as to how you play the game. There's a rank system but there's no unlocks as opposed to Battlefield ( might be some aesthetic changes once it hits release but it's debatable) It's really hard to play at first since it's very different from other FPS'. It took me almost a day's worth of play to really get the gist of it. There's only 2 maps but there's about 16 once it hits release.

You can download it here at http://www.fileplanet.com/promotions/section-8/

You also have to setup an account at www.gamespy.com to use as your Login ID once you install the game.

Don't forget to save the CD key you get at fileplanet.

Yup, quite a few Conviction members have been playing (And owning Cheesy) it. A lot of us preordered it after the first few games, its quite fun and fast paced, but takes strategy if you want to win as a team.

Yeah it takes a lot of teamwork, although I keep getting idiots on my team, can't stand them. Angry

I'm getting shot and they start looking away or do something really dumb and I die, then my team member finally reacts and gets the kill.

Going to check it out, I meant to do it the other day but forgot all about it.

Should be done downloading by the time I finish doing some updates.

Couple of my buds have tried it out. Don't think that I'm going to though... Maybe, I think I'm going to just stick to my regular fps'.

I played it for a few hours yesterday with my brother and we had some fun in a few rounds, but we didn't really understand why sometimes it seemed people took way too much damage even at close range.

My biggest gripe was with the annoying terrain that you couldn't traverse too well... too many invisible walls.

Have you messed around with the passive modules? They give you more armor and shields/ damage / lock on timers, that's why some people take more / less damage, and as far as taking more damage when close range, the machine gun  and shotgun completely annihilate anyone at close rage, the assault rifle is good all around though ( my first choice as far as weapons go )

Go for 4 armor, 2 shields, 4 anvil rounds if you are using an assault rifle.

I've got 4 Repair modules, 4 armor plates and 2 anvil rounds, works great.

Hmm maybe I'll give it another go today. Most fun I was having was with the sniper though by far.

Yeah you should, I liked so much when I played it for the very first time, it's a quite good futuristic fast-paced fps where a well organized team can stand out from rest easily, winning almost everything! hehe.
