The guys at IGN have a new preview online about some of their experiences with Global Agenda so far. Here's a clip with some information about character equipment.

All characters get a total of 8 equipment slots for guns and gadgets, the slots becoming available gradually as they progress to level 40. On the assault trooper, the first slot was for a melee weapon, the second and third for range weapons, the fourth for a jetpack, fifth through seventh for off-hand gadgets, and the eighth for a boost gadget. So jumping into a game at max level without having experienced the growing pains, my weapon choices were mostly random - an axe for melee, a Stormer scattergun, and a MASER cannon. For offhand, I chose a ranged shield and two types of grenades.

There's a few other bits of information in it as well, nothing too earth shattering though for the time being.

Thanks for the heads-up...as always Smiley

Once again, a new piece of information for me.  Jet-packs have to be selected before use...interesting.  I had always assumed they would be more like the Tribe-style always-equipped jet-pack.  I guess that explains the mechanic used to prevent firing a weapon while flying.  I had previously thought that being unable to use a weapon while flying was due to an energy restraint.

Speaking of energy, I didn't realize that each weapon/shield had its own energy supply (ok, so I guess that is TWO new piece of info for me).  I thought all weapons shared a common energy pool, which is not what this article suggests).

I gotta say...so far all indications point GA being a kick-ass game....can't wait!

I only played in the CB-1C and all I can say is if they carry on what they are doing, the finished product will be sex. Lot's of sex. More sex than I've had, which isn't a whole bunch, but alot more than that! GA = Sex
