Yeah not sure myself....although I still maintain that Hi-Rez mentioned that crafting is limited to base components, although I am willing to be proven wrong Smiley

As for the economy, I am clueless how that will shape up.

Yeah I am really wondering if it's going to be a player thing like in Perfect World for vendors, elaborate like in Eve, or the standard Auction economy like in WoW or WAR.  Will it be just a straight up barter and trade system?  So many questions when it comes to that.

Not just base components. I remember hearing about player crafting implanst and weapon augments (neither of them very powerful) that can be sold to other players via an auction house

Ah OK...good to know...I suppose it does make sense to have certain player equipment crafting though.

That's a great bit of knowledge there.  Thank you for that.  Seems a bit like City of Heroes on the augments with a little EVE in terms of "just a little boost".  That sounds good tho.  I am really hoping for some good character customization in armor.  I don't want to look like a clone of everyone else.

It seemed to me from watching the videos that the customization choices were quite varied, so hopefully that is the case in the final game.  That was one thing I loved about CoH and CO...the huge amount of costume choices.

I have a love-hate relationship with a huge amount of customization... I love the options, but get paralyzed by all the options an can't figure out what to pick! ...Needless to say, I spent HOURS in both CoX and CO just making a character.

Aye I can relate to that, but when you finally get that super-sweet look, you just can't beat it Smiley

From what's been written, it appears players PvE for different components that they use to craft unique items. I believe it was confirmed that there are no ready-to-use items actually dropped, everything is created.

It's also known that there is an auction house system so lazy players can simply take their acquired credits and buy completed items.

What is definitely not known is what impact controlled territories and agencies will have on the availability of components and items.

Ah that is an interesting point.  EVE Online used that kind of mechanic for the uncontrolled space...holding territory was a must for mining valuable minerals and getting the high-end drops.  I suppose that would make it very competitive for territory and most certainly put pressure on agencies to form larger alliances.

Not just the lazy players, all you get from PvP are credits, so those people will have to rely on others via the AH to get their items as well!

Haha, true.

Hi-Rez is still messing with the methods of acquiring parts quite a bit so it wouldn't surprise me if PvP rewarded more than just credits by the time of release, but we'll have to wait and see.

Also, I totally failed and hit modify on your post instead of quote...
