So I've been working on a skill calculator for the last couple days and have made some decent progress, at least on the look and feel.

Unfortunately, since Global Agenda uses a variant of Unreal's upk packages, I haven't gotten the individual skill icons. I've been able to dump and use several of the generic textures that are simply loaded after launching the game, the rest will have to wait until I can use this nifty texture dumping tool during the next beta.

Anyway, if you would like to take a look, let me know what you think in terms of look and functionality. I'm aware the couple skill icons I am using don't fit too well in their cells (these were off screenshots....) and the third skill in the middle ticks up to 3 as a test just so I had multi-point skills available if Hi-Rez chooses to do so.

At this point, it's good to go and simply requires plugging in official skill data and icons. I will be working on finishing up saving/sharing of builds and most importantly a wowhead.com style tooltip ability that can be used site wide once the skill database is filled up.

This version is extremely out-dated so I've pulled the link, new version soon!

Wow, so far I like the look and feel of it. Can't complain, great job haha.

I can only see this calculator getting better and better as we gain knowledge on Global Agenda.
Theres only room for more and more updates! Can't wait to see this thing grow up !!

Oh btw, If you need extra icons I have some screenshots of all the assault spec icons, and some of the recons I believe. Same with some of the device icons for the both as well.

For sure if you have more screenshots with any info on them that would definitely be helpful. I took a bunch of shots of random stuff and as much notes as I could, but I was hoping the game's data would be more accessible than it is...

If you want to zip them and either email, attach, or use the file upload (I just activated the user option for beta people), that'd be awesome.

I started framing the database this weekend (definitely not :removed:  Wink), once that comes along the calculator's skills can be populated. At this point though, I'm not really worried about getting any data in there since the game still seems far enough off judging by that last test.

Yea, I can zip the shots of the stuff I got, I did however just remember I was running the game in windowed mode, the the shots will probably be smaller than they should be, which might nullify your need for them (Magnifying the small images would probably murder their quality, but I donno).

Small windowed screenies, but if you wantem still, they're yours for sure.

P.S. Was also running the game on lowest quality graphics for best pvp performance, no complaints in that area, had little to no lag. Which is surprising for beta servers.

Yeah I just need reference material at this point. I'll get the real icons during the next beta. I found a nice tool that dumps all the loaded textures while the game runs. The stuff I've used so far (like class icons) were dumped by just loading up the login screen.

Also, did you read any info about the amount of skill points you get? I remember hearing you get one at level 14, then one every 5 levels for a total of 8. Not sure if that's right though.

Nice, hopefully you can get a load of icons.

I'm not sure how many skill points you get and per level. But I had 8 skill points at 39, and 11 device points. So, I believe it might be 5, but I'm not sure. Doesn't really add up to be honest, maybe past 30 it lowers, to 3 or 4... meh.

I'll send the shots through e-mail, the attachment is too big.

On hold for a bit I think.

I have an entire database site that is pretty complete and the skill calculator is part of it, but I was a little disappointed following the last test. I don't know how useful a database site will prove seeing that crafting materials seem gone and most all items are random anyway. Also, there is no nice automated way to pull the art assets or any data for that matter at this point, I can't imagine copying things by hand! That's probably the biggest stumbling block.

There's quite a lot of hours invested, so I'd like to continue it, but recently I've landed a full-time web developer position at Intuit so needless to say after working on websites at work it's tough to come home and do it some more.

I'm waiting for some more info about the larger scope of the game before I decide to invest more time developing such a big project.

Here's a screen if you are interested in the design, it's largely inspired by existing database sites, don't mind the lame tooltip text, it's not styled, just thrown in there.

I see I see, pretty interesting. Looks good so far from that screen. Congratulations I must say though on getting that job, thats awesome.

Take your time man, seems like we got alot of time till Global Agenda gets serious, don't over do yourself. You want to do your best at work, make a good impression haha. In your free time, if you can manage, work on GA stuff. Just do what you think is best I guess..

Looks good so far, so again, keep up the amazing work. And good luck on with your new job. Tell me how everything goes bud.
