AgendaDB.com - early testing (new people read first)

I've decided to create a new post for each build that I push out that contains a decent amount of changes. Please post feedback in the latest post.
With Global Agenda's release coming up quicker than I expected, it's time for me to step it up on development of AgendaDB. I've been developing this project for the past few months and am hoping to have things prepared around the time NDA drops, although there's plenty still to do.
With that said, I'd appreciate it if anyone would take a minute to take a look at things and provide some feedback/bugs/suggestions/etc. I've started doing some testing using friends and have already noted several issues to target.
Here's some info on how to test. First, head to
www.agendadb.com
. The credentials are:
U:
adb_user
P:
something
Obviously without that bit, this site would be a pretty big NDA breach, so please don't share it around the net just yet! You may also login on the site using those same credentials. Registration does work, but I'm currently not allowing activations, so just use that account.
Here's some things to check out specifically (by dropdown menu):
Class Info -> Medic -> Equipment
: This is the generic list view. Tooltips should work, but only a couple skills are complete (
Agonizer 4
and
Bio Poison 4
)
Click either of the mentioned devices for the detail page. Commenting and screenshot features all should work here, as well as my lame editing menu.
Tools -> Skill Calculator -> Assault
: You might notice the explosives tree not complete and level req formula isn't in. Bonuses should appear as skills are added.
Other features like search, user profiles, etc all work but there's not much use to those yet.
I realize there's not much content or options to view, I'm really just interested in completing and polishing the structure/presentation before focusing on the content (I'll probably recruit help from the community at that point anyway), it's quite a lot for one developer!
I have quite a few features that are soon to be implemented, but would like to hear more suggestions. There are more distant features I'd like to build out too, such as player profiling, etc.
(Also last note, I haven't yet done extensive cross-browser tests, sorry IE guys
)
Excuse any slowness, caching is disabled and it is still on a shared server until launch.

Very nice!
One suggestion: I Think you should add a link to this site somewhere.
Also, would it be possible to link Global Agenda Access logins to AgendaDB.com?

I'll probably just migrate the user accounts/posts and do a new forum install that's all tied in over there. This site doesn't offer anything that can't be provided by that one.

Suggestion...
When viewing the equipment list, it may be better (if possible) to have just one version of each item instead of showing all four levels of the item. Instead, perhaps the hover-over flyout can contain the stats for all four levels. It just seem that way you could list most of the items over a couple of pages and could compare more of them at once.
Just a thought...really like it so far though.

Thanks for checking things out!
I've been thinking about that too. I'm going to be adding additional filtering options on those lists at some point, so you could do something like uncheck ranks 1-3 so they would hide.
For now there is actually a way to achieve that view, or at least put all rank 4's first. Click to sort by rank first, then shift+click on name and it will put all the same ranks together and alphabetize them. In the end, I'll definitely add filters though.

/agreed
its confusing how 4 same items appear only with 1 number [in rank] difference

it looks confuzing closed in the little blue box when i hoover over the agonizer [and all the rest]
Agonizer 1
Does damage and poisons the target - lowering protection, speed, and healing received for a short time. Primary Fire: Damage per Shot: 154 Damage per Second 308.0 Damage Duration: 4 sec Damage per Second 15 Power per Second 15.0 Refire Time: 0.5 sec Effective Range 75 ft
i think you could make it like that
Agonizer 1
Does damage and poisons the
target - lowering protection,
speed, and healing received
for a short time.
Primary Fire: [
?]
Damage per Shot: 154
Damage per Second 308.0 [2 times damage per second] [and all gamers understand DPS]
Damage Duration: 4 sec
Damage per Second 15 [2 times damage per second] [and all gamers understand DPS]
Power per Second 15.0
Refire Time: 0.5 sec
Effective Range 75 ft
you get it ? it would not make the table much bigger, and even if, you still can open only 1 at a time, so there will be no issues concerning 2 many 2 big items on the site.
also regarding the skill calculator or whatever its called
i have in mind its not finished yet but:
the icons could be bigger in my opinion
and most importantly - i cant see the whole description of the "super agent" skill
its veird cuz when i hoover my mouse over it, i cant see the very bottom line, but while seeing the description i pull my mouse scroll down and i can scroll the site a tiny little bit down to see it. Even tho its doable its tricky. [not sure if u get what i mean about the super agent visibility]

Thanks Bohun. As I mentioned, most all of the items listed don't have complete tooltips. The only two that are finished are Agonizer 4 and Bio Grenade 4, the rest just have all their info stuffed in the description until I can get to assigning the appropriate stats to each (This makes sense if you look at an item's edit page, you'll see the modifier options are blank).
Regarding the skill calc, I definitely think I'll increase the icon sizes. It's tough to get the assets though, I'm thinking of asking Hi-Rez for the actual icon sheets so I don't have to try to grab them from the screen, all their data is packed in special UT3 formats...
The tooltip appearing off your screen is a bug. It didn't self-adjust once you moved the mouse? What browser was this?
Thanks for the feedback!

no it didnt self adjust
im using mozilla firefox... latest version i think.
and adjusting the icon size is a must - ask devs for icons, if they see ur effort they should help you.
you now i see - agonizer 4 is PERFECT, just skip part of the post regarding tooltip layout - u did it much better than i would.
edit:
btw iv just noticed - same as with "super agenst" goes with all the other tooltipis on the site
if they r low enough, much part [sometimes almost half] is mussing below the screen and i cant see it even with the "trick" i managed to do with the skill calculator.
edit2:
here is the image

Yup, I think I see what you are talking about, the bottom section never quite comes up onto the screen. I'll have to mess with the offset there, good catch
