We do understand that any class decisions wont be final until you try them, but it would be useful to at least get a rough idea of what we have to work with. Our main priority is to focus on the quality of our members in both skill and teamwork so we get off to a good start when Global Agenda launches, and establish ourselves as an agency known to be highly skilled and powerful.About UsConviction is the child of Onefire, formed in June 2009 with the aim to provide an organised and mature agency for those who would like to play Global Agenda on a competitive level. The agency currently has
21 members, with 11 of those in the Beta, and the rest have an agency referral key. The following are the current leaders of the agency:
OneFire- (CEO)
SighPolice - (Co-CEO)
Latency - (Tactical Officer)
Cush - (Recruitment Officer)
What do I need to get in?First things first, the age requirement for an application to be considered is 18* We also accept applications from anyone in Europe that can still participate in agency activities despite the timezone differences.
You are required to have good written and verbal skills in English (We want to create a good image of ourselves in Global Agenda) and a mature attitude towards other players. Losing is a part of any game, good sportsmanship is a must! This means no unwarranted cheating accusations or name calling, and not participating in petty arguments on the in-game chat system. A working mic is quite important, so if you do not have one now, we expect you to get one before the game is released.
We also expect people to be of a HIGH skill in general gaming. This means having a good aim in FPS games, but more importantly having a large amount of game sense (Being able to gain a feel for new games and transfer past skills over relatively quickly, and understanding what to do and when to do it. An example of bad game sense would be charging head first into/through a building without any teammates, rather than taking it slow and scouting the area for enemies)
Each application must be approved by 3 Officers before it is accepted. Once accepted, a trial period will be issued. Trial periods last up to a week and have the purpose of allowing an you to show us what you can do in-game and the type of gamer you are.
* Exceptions for age may be made if you are referred by a current member, but they are responsible for you, and will be held partly responsible if you screw up. You are also still expected to meet all recruitment criteria if you are below 18 and referred.
Sounds good, but what I get in return?Good question.
We aim to be able to compete in Alliance campaigns, and keep a tight-knit group of squads who are well co-ordinated for simultaneous hex attacks and base raids. The reason behind requiring a lot of FPS experience and being 18+ is quite simple; to increase the overall maturity and attitude of members, and ensure they pick up the game quick without needing a babysitter to teach them how to shoot.
This doesn't mean its all serious business, though! Banter and having a laugh in general is welcomed while on our Ventrilo server, but remember: There is a big line between having a laugh and annoying other people, a good pointer would be to keep banter out of the game, people will not be very pleased if they die as a result of someone messing about in a fight.
Another big part to 'hardcore' guilds (As you may put it) is that they require their members to be online 5+ hours a day and are very harsh when it comes to punishing people for not showing up (Even if their reason is legit)
We believe this attitude is wrong, and that real life should always come first over a game. This is why you will receive plenty of leeway for being absent, but we do ask that if members will be disappearing for two or more days or cant make an event, they drop a post on the forums or speak to an Officer to explain why and when they will be back
Conviction are openly recruiting soldiers to expand the ranks but this will change when we have enough numbers and membership will be by invitation only!
