Another preview, this time from the guys at MMORPG, where they discuss some PvP.

Last time we talked all about Global Agenda's PvE, but I would be doing the developers a great disservice if I didn't delve into the more primary focus of the game: its match-made PvP and Alliance versus Alliance gameplay. These are the cornerstones of Global Agenda's existence, and to be perfectly frank, if the systems of PvP didn't pan out the game would be a lame duck. Luckily for all those players waiting to try out Hi-Rez's premier offering that's simply not the case.

Check out the rest over at MMORPG.

Just when I thought it was over, I noticed yet another preview up over at PC Gamer UK. This time with some updated impressions.

And jetpack. Every player has a jetpack that makes the fighting a lot of fun. It’s not quite Tribes: Vengeance – there’s a limit to how long it lasts, and the replenishing energy it uses is the same that powers your weapons and abilities. It’s a resource to manage, a balance to strike. This lends itself to the action, letting you jump from roof to roof, catching ledges, crouching behind defenses.

Interested readers can check out the rest.

Also in from MMORPG is a nice preview of the PvE content currently available in Global Agenda as launch quickly approaches.

Each mission has several map variations, and enemy spawn patterns, so while you might play the same mission three or four times, you may not see the same exact map twice in that time. The developers have done a decent job of making environments with places to take cover, multiple paths to take, and even some environmental hazards to worry about. On one of my first missions the team cleared a room and were all standing in front of a corridor that I chose to dash into, thinking we were all moving on. Said corridor wound up being a ventilation shaft for the mining facility and my character was burned to a crisp when the burners came on.

Head that way for the rest of the two page preview.

The guys at MMORPG have posted up an interview with Global Agenda executive producer, Todd Harris. Here's his comments on beta so far:

"So far performance in beta has met our standards," began Todd as I asked him how the beta was running from a tech side. He said that this January time frame is critical because it will test the stress on the servers. "The team is focused on resolving any server issues that might come up," he said. In a game like Global Agenda performance is very important to player enjoyment and the team hopes to have a very high performance game running by launch time.

I've noticed a significant amount of traffic pouring in searching for information on the January Global Agenda beta schedule. The following is a repost of the original schedule:

The Global Agenda beta servers are available for play only during specific play test windows, and those tests may be limited to only certain game features.  Registered beta participants will receive specific test instructions prior to each Closed Beta test event, as the events are announced.

In general, during January, we expect the servers to be up each day most days in January, except for Wednesdays, starting on January 7 and continuing through January 26. On January 29 through 31, there will be a special Name Reserve and Character Creation event (details to be announced later).

In order to concentrate testing, the servers are currently expected to be live only from 1 PM to 1 AM US Eastern Time daily (10 AM to 10 PM Pacific, 6 PM to 6 AM GMT). The actual hours of operation may change as we progress through testing.
